Pavilion Castle

The Château du Pavillon is an 18th-century charterhouse overlooking the Sauternes valley, its vineyard being set on a terroir of fossil oyster scree, so characteristic of the unique terroir of Sainte-Croix du Mont.

The Ciron, a stream that creates the microclimate of the Sauternes valley, flows right in front of our castle.

The buildings cover more than 1600 m2, 800 of which are residential.

Built by the Laclotte brothers in 1761, it is a jewel that has earned the central pavilion a place on the inventory of historic monuments and sites.

The left wing dates from the 15th century, and is a vestige of the old fortified farm destroyed by the Laclotte brothers, the rest, consisting of cellars, vat room, farm, was built in the 19th century, and the cooperage, dug into the hill and which currently houses our offices, built in 1922.

The vat room contains nearly 2,500 hectoliters in concrete and stainless steel vats, and the barrel cellar nearly 250 225-liter barrels.

This historic wine estate comprises just 4.5 hectares of white wines surrounding the château and 3 hectares of red wines in Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur on the other side of the departmental road overlooking the Garonne River. The white wines were planted in 1945 and the reds between 1989 and 2004.
