Château Les Roques
Since its origins, Château Les Roques has been linked to Château du Pavillon, from which it is only 700 meters away.
Of the castle that appears to have existed, only a 19th-century troglodyte house remains, which, like Angkor, is overgrown with centuries-old ivy.
The vineyard, on the hillside facing south-southwest, has a very steep slope which prevents mechanization for many years.
The vineyard was planted in 1945, and the harvests are very small but produce a wine of extreme finesse and great concentration.
The only grape variety is Sémillon. In some years, a little dry wine is produced on the lower plots near the departmental road. It has a long aging potential.
The entire harvest is placed in oak or acacia barrels, one-third of which are renewed.
In the great vintages, the best barrels are blended into the Château's Cuvée Prestige, the 'Cuvée Frantz', served on the most prestigious tables of starred chefs from different countries.
